After Monday Rainout, Boys Tennis To Play at Home Tuesday

The boys tennis team's entrance into the postseason tournament was postponed because of Monday's rain.

The high school boys tennis team will play its first postseason match on Tuesday afternoon after Monday's match was rained out.

The Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School Generals were slated to enter the Div. 3 North tournament on Monday afternoon as the No. 4 seed, taking on No. 5 Austin Preparatory School of Reading.

But Monday's rain forced a postponement. The match will now take place on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. on the Generals home courts at Pingree Park.

Hamilton-Wenham ended the season at 10-3 and had a bye through the first round of the tournament.

Austin Prep (14-6) got to the quarterfinals with a 5-0 win over No. 12 Watertown on Sunday.

The winner of Tuesday's match will advance to the Div. 3 North semifinals to face No. 8 Bedford on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. If the Generals advance, that match would also happen at Pingree Park, since Hamilton-Wenham is ranked higher than Bedford.
