Hamilton-Wenham Schools Closed on Thursday

The public schools in Hamilton-Wenham will be closed on Thursday so the Fire Department can inspect the condition of the roofs and workers can remove snow from the roofs.

The will be closed on Thursday while the building inspector checks each school.

Assistant School Superintendent Peter Gray said on Wednesday night at 5:45 p.m. that Charlie Brett, the Hamilton Building Inspector, had ordered the to inspect every school building on Thursday “to assess the heavy snow loads” determine whether any “excess snow” can be moved off the roofs.

“There are no known issues at this time and this action is precautionary,” Gray said in his telephone and e-mail message to parents.

The schools’ central office at Center School will be open on Thursday and regularly scheduled meeting will go ahead as planned.
