Woman Faces OUI Charges After Allegedly Fleeing Crash Scene

Wednesday, July 11

1:18 a.m. A verbal warning was issued after a car stop at Cherry and Pleasant streets.

7:06 a.m. Assistance was rendered on School Street.

7:11 p.m. Animal control was called for an animal call at a William Fairfield Drive address.

7:24 a.m. A fire alarm on William Fairfield Drive was caused by an accidental activation or defective alarm.

8:13 a.m. Mutual aid was provided to Gloucester.

8:47 a.m. Traffic control was provided in the downtown square.

12:02 p.m. A verbal warning was issued after a car stop at Grapevine Road and Larch Lane.

1:31 p.m. A suspicious person reported on Route 128 northbound north of exit 17 was gone when officers arrived.

3:46 p.m. A verbal warning was issued after a car stop on Main Street.

5 p.m. Suspicious activity was reported on Grapevine Road.

5:18 p.m. A female was arrested after a hit-and-run crash on Larch Row. Police said the crash occurred near 200 Larch Row. Nobody was injured and there was minor damage to both vehicle that were involved, but one vehicle allegedly fled afterward. Later, police arrested Caren L. Bensley, 48, of 110 Larch Row in Wenham at her home. She was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Thursday, July 12

12:52 a.m. Medical attention was refused after an ambulance call to Ferrin Hall at .

9:32 a.m. A ticket was issued after a car stop on Larch Row.

11:08 a.m. A ticket was issued after a car stop on Grapevine Road.

12:45 p.m. An animal call was handled in Topsfield Road.

2:29 p.m. A 911 hang-up or wrong dial call came from a William Fairfield Drive address.

3:35 p.m. A verbal warning was issued after a car stop on Grapevine Road.

3:50 p.m. A verbal warning was issued after a car stop at Grapevine and Gussett roads.
