WBUR Poll: Tierney Leads Tisei, Many Undecided

A snapshot of the 6th District race.

Congressman John Tierney may have reason to smile this week.

A new poll of likely voters published by WBUR shows Tierney, a Democrat from Salem, leading his Republican challenger Richard Tisei of Wakefield.

Both candidates are seeking to represent the Sixth Congressional District, which includes Hamilton and Wenham.

Asked for candidate preference without "leaning" factored in, Tierney leads Tisei by 7 points -- 39 percent to 32 percent -- with 22 percent undecided. Asked the same question with leaning allowed, Tierney's lead over Tisei grows to 12 points -- 46 percent to 34 percent -- with 11 undecided. This suggests about half the undecideds are leaning toward Tierney.

It also suggests Tisei still has work to do if he's going to persuade undecided voters to support him.

Check out the poll and full article here.

I guess crime pays in politics ?

The real crime in politics is the fraud perpetrated by the so-called Tea Party backers on gullible and frightened Americans. Key question: why areTisei and Brown running away from their own party's positions on social issues? Clear answer: they both know they cannot win unless they do so.

I guess the seat in the sixth district is jinxed then, because Nick Mavroules was brought to task on similar issues of impropriety. I like John Tierney as a person. I don't like Tisei as he is a contradiction to the republican party as Parson Weems indicated above. So where is the truth and how do the people receive good truthful representation. Should we draft good people into office rather than have them come forward with a sack of money ?

It seems in Massachusetts politics, walking in lock step with the democrats means electing Richard Nixon Types and George Bush Types. As long as they wear the democratic logo, "The Jack Ass" It's Ok to cheat, lie, steal, deceive, sneak, canive, mis-represent, lie on one's resume, write a book you didn't author, and come from a family that wasn't what you said you were, lie about your past, enjoy personel gain from claiming minority status. As a independent I am amazed at party politics and am glad I am not part of your disease. The Hamilton Schools teaches this to their students as alright, it's ok to lie, steal and cheat as long as you're a democrat ? Then why not let Sal DiMasie off the hook ? The guy has cancer and was denied his state health insurance and pension. The terrorists held at Guantanamo receive better treatment. How does one spell Democrat & Republican Class ? "Hypocrites"
