Veterans Parade, Programs Planned Monday in Both Towns

A Veterans Day program has been planned in both Hamilton and Wenham on Monday for Veterans Day.

A Veterans Day program has been planned in both Hamilton and Wenham on Monday for Veterans, starting with coffee at 8 a.m. at the A.P. Gardner American Legion Post 94 and breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

Hamilton

The parade will form at Hamilton Town Hall at 10:15 a.m. and will march silently to Hamilton Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.

There will be a moment of silence and flag raising at 11 a.m. in the cemetery, and taps will be played and the Rifle Squad will fire three volleys.

At 11:15 a.m., participants will return to Town Hall.

Wenham

Beginning at 10 a.m. at Cheeseman Field at Pingree Park, a wreath will be laid in memory of Alan B. Cheeseman, Wenham's only Vietnam causality. There will also be short remarks.

The group will then form at 10:30 a.m. at Hull Street and Grapevine Road and make the short march to the Veterans Memorial Bridge over Route 128. At 11 a.m., a wreath in honor of the eight Wenham men killed in World War II will be laid. Terrance Hart, USCC retired and Wenham's Veterans Agent, will offer remarks.

Afterward, participants will head to the Scout Barn at Iron Rail where Wenham Scouts will provide a collation for all veterans.
