Schools' Business Manager Leaving, Will Not Be Replaced

Business Manager Pola Andrews is leaving Hamilton-Wenham to take a similar position in Saugus, where she lives, and will not be replaced.

The business manager for the is leaving after taking a similar position in Saugus.

The Daily Item of Lynn reported last Friday that Pola Andrews has been hired as the Executive Director of Finance and Operations for the Saugus School District. Andrews had been the business manager for the regional school district in Hamilton-Wenham.

Superintendent Michael Harvey told Hamilton-Wenham Patch on Wednesday that he is “not inclined to re-fill the position.”

“Since we already have an Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance (Peter Gray), I do not see the need for another 'executive-level' position in the business office,” he said.

In June 2011, Andrews had her hours increased from 30 to 40 hours per week and given the title of business manager as part of a restructuring of the central office following .

The Daily Item reported that the Saugus School Committee unanimously voted to hire Andrews last Thursday, after she was recommended for the position by Saugus Schools Superintendent Richard Langlois.

The hire of Andrews, a Saugus resident, “could be the beginning of a long-term relationship,” Langlois said, according to the Daily Item report.
