Pool Plans, Questions to be Aired Monday Night

A presentation Monday night will give town board and committee members plus the public to hear more about plans for a new pool at Patton Park and get questions answered.

A plan to rebuild the pool at Patton Park in Hamilton will go before town leaders and the public on Monday night.

A presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the public meeting room on the first floor of Hamilton-Wenham Library where possible designs for a new pool will be outlined for the Board of Selectmen, Creation Committee and other interested boards and committees.

Already, the plan has generated questions and discussion. Hamilton resident Bob Gray has posted several questions about the plans on Patch, including wondering what role the town of Wenham may play in the project and what would happen if Wenham did not contribute to construction of a new pool. Gray also asked why there are not plans that cost less than $2 million for a facility that is used only in the summer and served up to 300 people regularly. He also wonders whether a traffic and septic study has been done and said Hamilton is the only small town in the state with its own pool.
