New Playground Moves Closer with Tuesday Deadline

Tuesday is the deadline for bids to be submitted for the equipment for the new playground at Patton Park.

The new playground at Patton Park moves closer to a spring groundbreaking with Tuesday's deadline for bidders for the equipment.

A complete copy of the RFP is attached to this story as a PDF. It sets a deadline of Tuesday for companies to submit proposals to offer the equipment for the project.

The proposal seeks equipment for both children age 2-5 and age 5-12, a typical breakdown on most playgrounds. Proposals will be accepted with equipment cost up to $59,000.

An evaluation committee will look at all responses, taking into consideration the evaluation criteria and price. Once the top company is selected negotiations will begin and a contract will be awarded by Feb. 22. The RFP asks that the equipment be delivered no later than April 12.

Town Manager Michael Lombardo said said that installation of the new equipment will happen "as soon as possible" in the spring.
