Letter to the Editor: Kindle Award Winner Announced, Library Prepares for Book Sale

The Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Library announces winners from its membership drive and announces it upcoming book sale.

To the Editor:

The Friends of the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library would like to thank all those patrons who have renewed their memberships, as well as new members who responded to our town-wide membership mailing in December.

New this year, the board decided to provide an added incentive for those who replied early. Rosemary Loring and Roe and Hollis French were awarded gift certificates to the Beverly Farms Book Shop, while the first prize of a Kindle went to Roger Kuebel. Congratulations to each of these local residents.

In addition to Hamilton-Wenham residents, our library draws numerous supporters and patrons from surrounding towns as well. And we know that as the date for the semi-annual March book sale approaches, more people will want to submit their FHWPL membership applications - to be ready for the popular Members Only Preview Night on Friday, March 15. Applications are available at the library or may be found at www.hwlibrary.org.

The sale continues for the general public on Saturday and the following week, through Thursday, March 21. As always, we seek volunteers for the setup week and cashiers for the sale hours. Those interested in volunteering may sign up in the library, or send an e-mail message to fohwpl@gmail.com.

We are no longer actively seeking donations for this next book sale. The Friends are overwhelmed by the generosity of our patrons and already have many more books for our sale than can be easily displayed. We respectfully request that further donations be held until March 25. So mark your calendar and don't miss out on the amazing selection of bargain books (as well as CDs, DVDs, audio tapes and more) which will be offered. Members should look for their special postcard invitation (and discount) in the mail early in March. We look forward to greeting you at the Book Sale, and welcoming both old friends and new.

Sincerely,

Beth Myers, Book Sale Coordinator and the FHWPL Board of Directors
