Last Chance: Deadlines You Need to Know This Week in Hamilton and Wenham

A chance to sign up for Lego Workshops, preschool science and a star lab all during school vacation week.

April Vacation at Wenham Museum: While LegoPalooza for kids this week is full, you can call the museum for potential last minute openings at 978-468-2377.

But there are openings for the LEGO Workshops planned for Tuesday through Thursday, April 17–19, from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. or 1–4 p.m.

Community House: Sign up this week for “Fun Science for Preschoolers” at the C, a program for preschooler that allows them to engage in the world and creatures around them.

The 45-minute class is on Saturday mornings  at 10 a.m. with Science on the Farm coming up on April 21 and 28. The cost is $25 per month. Some questions that will be answered: How do eggs work? Why do goats have square pupils?

Library: At , the Boston Museum of Science will host “One Sky, Many Stories” on Wednesday, April 18 during school vacation week. Programs run at 1, 1:45, 2:30 and 3:15 p.m.  Pre-registration is required in person at the library for one of four of the 20 minute sessions. Each session is limited to 25 people, both children and adults need to sign up individually.

Explore the solar system and beyond, learn to navigate the night sky and hear different cultural explanations of the cosmos. This program is designed for children 5 years and up. Children 8-years-old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. This traveling program will take place at the Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Department and is offered at no charge with a grant from the Museum of Science.

Battle of the Bands: Entries are still being accepted  for with the deadline coming up at the end of the week. The contest involves entries from nearly three dozen communities in Greater Boston, the North Shore, Merrimack Valley, South Shore and Cape Cod and the Islands. Entries will be accepted for the next two weeks, with the winner gets a concert at The Harp in Boston and other prizes.

Trash: In Hamilton, where trash is picked up every other week in the new black trash barrels, this week trash will only be picked up if it is placed curbside in a on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. In addition, organics in the green bin and recycling in a properly marked bin will all be collected.
