Is There Trash Pickup During Hurricane Sandy on Monday?

The top question on Monday morning is whether trash pickup is still happening on in Wenham.

Trash pickup will happen as usual on Monday in Wenham, according to Wenham Department of Public Works Director Bill Tyack.

On Sunday night, Wenham Interim Town Administrator Mark Andrews said that Wenham Town Hall would be closed on Monday and only essential Police Department, Fire Department and Public Works employees were required to report to work.

On its Twitter feed, Hiltz Disposal - which has the contract for trash, recycling and organics pickup in both towns - said that that "all trash and recycle trucks are out working a normal Monday schedule at this point," as of 9:50 a.m. on Monday.

Trash Pick up ? You mean Hamilton has Trash pick up ? I gave up on Hamilton public services years ago. I take my trash to work. The only service in Hamilton, is Schools, everywhere you look, school buildings here and school buildings there. Schools do not pay taxes and are revenue negative.

The town of Hamilton owns, a town hall, DPW building/yard, Patton Park, Patton Property, the COA (Old Library), Emergency Center, Patton homestead, and part of a library/rec center. None of these building/entities pay taxes. Yet all you can see are schools? You many need to see an optometrist.
