The new trash program began the week on April 2 and this is just the second week when the black barrels have not been picked up. The first week, on April 4-6, Town Manager Michael Lombardo said there was “some leniency” about whether the black barrels were picked up, even though it was a blue bag only week. Several Patch users reported that they saw Hiltz workers picking up the black barrels that week, but this week, the second time around as a blue bag week, Hamilton officials said that only blue bag will be picked up.

Trash is also delayed a day because of Monday’s Patriots’ Day holiday. Residents who typically get trash picked up on Wednesday will have their trash picked up on Thursday and Thursday is pushed back to Friday and typical Friday pickup will instead happen on Saturday.
