Wenham Firefighters Helping Battle Three Alarm Fire at North Beverly Motel

A fire was reported in the walls of 'Lakeview Motel' in North Beverly.

Firefighters from at least seven North Shore communities, including Wenham, are battling a three alarm fire Thursday afternoon at the Lakeview Motor Lodge, also known as the Lakeview Motor Lodge in North Beverly. It is located at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Enon Street, across from the North Beverly train station on Route 1A. It is about a half mile south of the Wenham town line.

The significant number of fire trucks at the scene have narrowed Route 1A down to one lane. Only the southbound lane is getting by and northbound traffic is being directed up Dodge Street, from the intersection with Enon Street.

The fire was first reported at about 1:15 p.m.

1:25 p.m. Scanner reports indicated a second alarm was struck.

1:36 p.m. Companies reporting fire has extended through the walls into attic.

1:40 p.m. Northbound traffic on Route 1A (Dodge Street) is being directed down Dodge Street at the intersection with Enon Street near Nick's Roast Beef.

1:44 a.m. A third alarm was struck for additional manpower to help fight the fire. Firefighters from at least Danvers, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Salem, Swampscott, Topsfield and Wenham.

1:49 p.m. The fire is declared under control by the commander. Firefighters are still searching for any lingering hotspots.
