Tree Falls on Hamilton Home

There were no injuries when a tree fell on the rear of a Moynihan Road home in Hamilton on Sunday.

Nobody was hurt when a rotten tree fell on a Hamilton home Sunday morning.

The Hamilton Fire Department was called to 4 Moynihan Road at about 9 a.m. for the report of a tree on a house. Fire Chief Phil Stevens said everyone got out of the house safely and the building inspector and electrical inspector were called.

A rainstorm has moved through overnight but Stevens said it he did not believe the storm caused the tree to fall.

"You could see where there was some rot," he said, noting it was a 14-inch diameter branch off a larger tree. You can see a photo of it from the Fire Department attached to this story.

Nothing besides the home was struck, Stevens said.
