Speeding Tickets Handed Out on Route 97

The following activity for the Wenham Police and Fire Department comes from the Essex County Regional Emergency Communication Center log for Wenham on Wednesday, July 31.

  • A female was taken by Lyons Ambulance to Beverly Hospital after a fall at a Cherry Street address at 8:20 a.m.
  • The alarm at Wenham Museum went off at 8:27 a.m. It was confirmed to be accidental.
  • A speeding ticket was issued after a car stop on Topsfield Road at 10:06 a.m.
  • A speeding ticket was issued after a car stop on Topsfield Road at 10:33 a.m.
  • A written warning for speeding was issued after a car stop on Grapevine Road at 11:27 a.m.
  • A Wenham Fire Department captain requested a police officer to the corner of Main Street and Old Country Road at 11:56 a.m. for a minor fender-bender crash with no injuries.
  • An alarm was activated at a Main Street address at 12:28 p.m. A successful passcode was received.
  • A 911 call was received from a Mayflower Drive address at 3:03 p.m. and nobody was on the line. The number was called back and the woman who answered said it was accidental. Police responded to check.
