Person Taken By MedFlight After Boating Accident

A medical helicopter was called to Hamilton on Saturday for a person who was seriously injured in a boating accident.

A man was taken to the hospital in a medical helicopter on Saturday afternoon following a boating accident on Chebacco Lake.

The incident happened at about 2:45 p.m.

There were not a lot of details available on Saturday evening, but according to Twitter posts from people who monitor public safety radio transmissions, they said the incident involved a person who suffered a severed limb.

An ambulance was first called to Norris Road and then the medical helicopter landed at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Hamilton Police Department Sgt. Stephen Walsh said that no press release on the incident had been prepared on Saturday evening and that more information would be available on Sunday.

Nobody from the Hamilton Fire Department, that also responded, was immediately available for comment on Saturday evening.
