Man Seriously Injured, Faces Charges After Sunday Morning Crash

A 22-year-old Hamilton man crashed he vehicle on Route 1A on Sunday morning. He was seriously injured and had to be taken by a medical helicopter to Boston.

A Hamilton man was seriously injured when the car he was driving crashed on Bay Road early Sunday morning.

said James Wolcott, 22, was speeding on Route 1A (Bay Road) near Moulton Street just before 6 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the road, struck an utiity pole and the vehicle flipped, ejecting him.

Wolcott had to be taken by medical helicopter to Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston.
Wolcott was charged with operating to endanger and marked lanes violation in connection with the crash.

Officer Andrew Neill said in a police report that Wolcott was allegedly driving “in excess of the 40 mph speed limit” at the time of the crash. The vehicle was found about 300 feet from the point of initial impact, police said.

The crash closed the road on Sunday morning. No further details were immediately available from Hamilton police on Monday morning.
