How are Hamilton and Wenham Remembering the Victims of the September 11 Attacks?

Ceremonies will be held in both Hamilton and Wenham on Wednesday to mark the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2011 will be remembered on Wednesday morning in both towns.

In Wenham, the trucks will be positioned in front of the station starting at about 9:30 a.m. The traditional ceremony follows the protocol issued by the Fire Chiefs Association, according to Police Chief Tom Perkins. 

In Hamilton, the Hamilton police and fire departments and other first responders have a service planned in front of public safety building on Bay starting at 9:55 a.m., according to Fire Chief Phil Stevens. Refreshments will be served afterward.

"This is an annual remembrance of the events of Sept. 11, 2001," said Town Manager Michael Lombardo.

The observances in both towns are open to the public.

In Boston, Gov. Deval Patrick will honors the victims of Sept. 11, 2001 by participating in a flag lowering ceremony and reading the names of Massachusetts victims on the State House Steps at 8:30 a.m.
