Hamilton Police Chief Russell Stevens has been reappointed.
According to an article in Tuesday's Salem News, Town Manager Michael Lombardo had recommended Stevens for another three-year contract, which selectmen approved 4-0. Selectman Jennifer Scuteri was absent from last night’s meeting but sent a statement of support for Stevens, which was read aloud.
Selectman Jeff Hubbard called the decision “an easy vote," according to the Salem News article.
Stevens came to Hamilton in September 2009 as the police department was reeling from the EMT recertification scandal that affected most of the department's officers.
