Gordon Grad's Daughter Killed, Son Survives Newtown Shooting

A former Gordon College student who graduated 20 years ago was the parent of two students at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The daughter of a 1992 Gordon College graduate was killed in Friday's shooting at a Connecticut elementary school, according to a post of the college's official Facebook page.

Charlotte Bacon, was one of 20 children killed on Friday at a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Her father, Joel Bacon, was a 1992 graduate of Gordon and later married JoAnn.

In a profile of the victim by Newsday, Charlotte Bacon was described as "an outgoing girl with long and curly red hair." Her uncle told the paper that Charlotte's oldest brother, Guy, also attended Sandy Hook Elementary School and survived the shooting.

The Bacons had lived in Newtown, which is about 60 miles north of New York City, for about four or five years.
