Driver Picks Up Dog Running Loose on 1A

The following activity for the Wenham Police and Fire Department comes from the Essex County Regional Emergency Communication Center log for Wenham for Tuesday, July 30.

  • Two black dogs were running around on Route 1A near Wenham Lake at 9:07 a.m. One dog was picked up by a motorist and taken to the vet in Hamilton and the other one was gone when police arrived.
  • An unidentified caller said he wanted to meet police at a Hull Street address at 9:38 a.m.
  • A verbal warning for speeding was issued after a car stop at Rubbly and Grapevine roads at 5:10 p.m.
  • A tree was reported to be completely on power lines near Gordon College at 7:04 p.m. No power outages were reported and there were no sparks showing. National Grid was notified. The Fire Department responded and police stood by until 8:35 p.m. when the tree was removed.
  • A car stop was conducted at 9:38 p.m. at Main Street and Larch Row.
