UPDATED: Downed Wire Cuts Power, Closes Road in Wenham

A portion of Larch Row is closed early Wednesday afternoon in Wenham and about four dozen homes are without power.

A live wire is down on Larch Row, which has closed the road between the railroad crossing and the Four Corners intersection with Dodges Row and Walnut Road early Wednesday afternoon.

National Grid said that a tree that fell on an electric wire and cut power service to 42 customers in the area. No immediate estimate was available for when power would be restored.

Wenham police and National Grid crews were there as of 1 p.m.

Update, 1:30 p.m.: Larch Row has been reopened to traffic and National Grid estimates power will be restored by 2 p.m.
