A Wenham family has received gift cards and other donations after their home was damaged in a fire on Thursday morning.

Donations are coming in to help a Wenham family whose house was damaged in a fire on Thursday.

A fire damaged a home next to Wenham Country Club on Thursday morning. The fire started in the kitchen, where the damage was the worst, and there was smoke damage throughout the house.

The family has two young boys, a 4-year-old and a younger boy. The husband works at Wenham Country Club and the wife works as a special education teacher in the Beverly schools, where co-workers at Ayers Elementary School have collected some donations for the family.

Some Wenham firefighters gave the family gift cards to Target on Friday morning too, Blanchard said.

“They were very grateful,” Blanchard said.

The family is staying with family or friends, but could use things such as toys and smoke-free clothes. Any donations can be dropped off at the Wenham Police Station, Blanchard said, where the lobby is open around he clock.
