plans to reopen on Sunday afternoon for brunch after on Saturday afternoon.
The restaurant, in the Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing, was closed for dinner on Saturday since the fire broke out at about 4:30 p.m., a half hour before dinner service starts.
But on Sunday morning, officials from the and Hamilton Board of Health gave the OK for the restaurant to reopen. Ian O’Connor, an employee at the restaurant, said brunch typically starts at 11:30 on Sundays.
“We’re planning to open by 12 or 12:30,” he said at about 11 a.m.
There was no water or smoke damage to the restaurant, which is two and a half stories below where the fire was burning in the ventilation system on top of the restaurant on Saturday afternoon.
Nobody was injured in the fire.
O’Connor said the impact of the fire was limited mostly to Saturday night’s dinner, which is typically the busiest time of the week for the restaurant.
Nobody from Lisco Development, which owns the plaza or the Hamilton Department could immediately be reached for comment on Sunday morning.
