'Then and Now' was a Bay Road Home

The answer to this week's "Then and Now" historical photo was that it was a home on the northern end of Bay Road in Hamilton.

Our latest "" historical photo feature was a home on Bay Road in Hamilton.

It was 946 Bay Road. The home is still there today but does not have a porch on the front any longer. It is an apartment building today.

The woman in the photo was Eileen Waterhouse Poole and was taken in 1945.

There were no correct guesses.

The photos show the existing view across Bay Road to where there was a field when the photo was taken in the 1940s.

There's a new historical photo posted every Tuesday. Check the site on Tuesday for the latest one. If you know where it was taken, guess in the comments section at the bottom.

Special thanks to and the Hamilton Historical Society an at the for providing the photos we'll use for the feature in the coming weeks.

Plus, if you have a picture that was taken somewhere it Hamilton and Wenham more than 50 years ago that you want to submit for use in , e-mail it to Editor Bobby Gates at robertg@patch.com or contact him to arrange pickup so that it can be electronically scanned for use on the website.
