Support For Jeff Hubbard

Letter to the Editor

To our fellow Hamiltonians,

If you are tired of ever escalating taxes, selectmen who dismiss citizens who disagree with them as just “not understanding” the issues and selectmen who seem to not understand that money does not grow on trees for all of us – then please support and re-elect Jeff Hubbard.

We hope you’ll consider re-electing the one selectman (out of a panel of five) who consistently says “Wait a minute, can we see what the citizens want regarding this issue….what are the possible ramifications of each issue and what are the potential costs to the town and the taxpayers and are they willing to shoulder that cost?”

Watching the BOS meetings (Mondays, 7pm, Ch 8) Jeff Hubbard is the lone voice for the wishes of the citizens.  He doesn’t say, in effect, “my way or no way”.  He just suggests the BOS be more thoughtful of the repercussions of their actions and the impact on our town and its character and our wallets and ability to live in this town.

We are very ashamed and dismayed by the continuing condescension and rudeness the BOS extends to a fellow BOS member who is simply trying to represent the citizens who may disagree with the four of them (and therefore dismissed by them).  Very ironic that in their letters they mention the importance of “teamwork” and yet they consistently show they do not know the meaning of the word, nor do they practice it.

The bottom line:  If you are for spending your tax dollars wisely and for all sides of the issues to be listened to and for professionalism and polite discourse, please give your support to Jeff Hubbard – a selectman who is trying to support your  voice.

Thank you Hamilton,

Sue Welch and Virginia Seavey
