So Much to Do: Five Things From a Full Weekend Calendar

A look at some picks of things to do locally for the upcoming weekend in Hamilton and Wenham.

It’s shaping up to be one of the busiest weekends in the two towns in a very long time. So this week, more than ever, we encourage you to look past this weekend guide into our full calendar of events to find something to do, especially if nothing from our guide makes it on to your list.

Where/When: gymnasium; Saturday, 1 p.m.

Why Go: It’s your civic responsibility, plus a quorum of 141 voters is required to conduct business. And, most important, many major decisions will be made about everything from the 2012 to deciding the future of curbside loose-leaf pickup. And don't forget the free lunch that's provided by the Wenham Village Improvement Society at noon.

Pricing: Free to any registered voter

2. 

Where/When: ; Friday, 2-4 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.

Why Go: It’s a great time to take in the surroundings of spring and get everything you need to get your garden off on the right foot, plus help a local cause at the same time.

3. 

Where/When: ; Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: This will be a fun night, for sure. Adult attendees will “bet” on simulated horse races, with the proceeds going to the Friends of and . And all this horseracing-themed fun just a few hours after the Run for the Roses goes off in Louisville.

Pricing: $25 per couple admission, $5 per race to bet

4. 

Where/When: ; Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: The Warehouse Sale is the one time each year that you can get great deals locally on designer brands. There will be everything from shoes to accessory and a special $5 section.

Where/When: ; Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon

Why Go: It’s a great opportunity to get some new toys or new outfits for the kids and help a great local preschool program. There will be a wide range of items from books and videos to sports equipment and clothing.
