Interesting that a local candidate for a local office feels he needs to have "some" help from a national party such as the Demos folks. Most folks who run for office feel that their local reputations andf work on local boards or committees is what will look for in a possible person running for office. The need to bring outside help from a national party makes one wonder why does the officer seeker feel the outside "help" leigh Keyser

Hi Leigh, I appreciate your concern and thus I am happy to say that any rumor you have heard about me receiving any sort of help from a national party is not true. I am just a guy concerned about his town that stood up to help. Being this is my first election I have asked the advice of some people in town, from diverse party backgrounds, who are more politically savvy then me, but their help has been given to me as a friend and no way as a representative of their party. I hope this puts your concerns at ease, if you have any other questions or would like to talk to me more about my vision for Hamilton please let me know.

Shawn, is Tom Lawnsby helping your campaign?
Shawn Farrell April 09, 2014 at 08:21 AM
Hi Ann - I feel very fortunate to have Tom as a supporter and yes he has provided with advice on a few things. However, that said, his advice has been given as a member of our community and not as a representative of the democratic party. I don't really follow party politics and have asked for advice from a lot of republicans and Independents as well. I hope this answers your concerns
