Re-elect Jeff Hubbard as Hamilton selectman!
Jeff Hubbard has done an extraordinary job of leadership as a selectman of Hamilton, and deserves re-election.
He has demonstrated a thoughtful, reasoned approach when addressing town issues, remaining calm when many others have raced off in the pursuit of ill-conceived notions. He has been a steadfast voice in favor of boosting Hamilton’s downtown to enhance the town’s livability and tax base, the essential importance of boosting the quality of the school, and the need for smart growth. He cares deeply about preserving Hamilton’s key assets—its small-town feel and the many amenities that make it special—while being keenly aware about the need for a stable tax burden.
Nowhere were Jeff’s leadership qualities as evident as during the fight over the future of the Pirie property last year. The ill-considered purchase, championed by the bulk of the other selectman, would have exposed the town to huge financial risks and posed the danger of an unsightly failed development. Jeff spoke out articulately about the dangers of this plan, even in the face of efforts to muzzle debate. His concerns clearly reflected those of the citizens of Hamilton, who rejected by a considerable majority at town meeting the highly leveraged deal, which would have imperiled Hamilton’s finances for many years to come.

This kind of thoughtful leadership is very much needed in Hamilton today. So please turn out to vote for Jeff Hubbard’s re-election on April 10th.
