Pool or not to Pool
Question: Who condemned the pool as unusable? The Board of Health?, the Building inspector? The DPW director? Is it unsafe? Or is this political pressure to get a new one? One of the things this town does all the time is present only the proponents point of view with lip service to the other side. This is apparent in the presentation for the new bigger and better. Where is the other side of the story? I would like it very much if the BOS/Town manager not be so “Pro” these projects and a little more fair and balanced with an objective look at what is driving the problem. It always seems we, the public are getting a sales job for what they, the so call fathers, want. Where is the independent engineering analysis. How can I as a citizen make an intelligent informed decision relative to spending 2.5 Million on a project if there is not presented all the facts. We are only getting one side, the side that wants it. And as so often, as witnessed in recent ventures, the rose colored glasses are adorned. When I hear statements which are so predigested I immediately take a negative posture. We should, as Jack suggested step back and revaluate the problem, certainly not with the same cast of charters.
