- As the women’s National Soccer Team appeared headed for the World Cup finals on Wednesday, we posted how excited we were. And apparently many others were excited too. The U.S. faces Japan at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
- When an Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday, we posted to Facebook a link to the state website with the details. When the suspect was captured and the baby was found OK, we updated it. That generated some positive feedback in the comments on Facebook.
- It can’t go without mentioning that Hamilton-Wenham Patch added its 400th Facebook fan this week. Facebook continues to be a great way to stay connected to local news, from “Five Things to Know" each weekday morning to coverage of sports, schools shopping and local government.
On Tuesday, we asked how the of by People’s United Bank of Connecticut has affected people’s banking decision. While voters participating was very low, and they are sick of seeing local banks bought out by larger banks.
Facebook Page Of The Week
This week it has to be Art Grows Here, the two town-wide art display that began on Friday and runs all week. The page has been actively promoting the display for months on social media and in recent weeks has been chronicling the assembly of certain pieces. Many of the photos from that work are available on the Facebook page.
