Letter to the Community

Dear Editor,

It has come to the attention of the board of the Hamilton Wenham Open Land Trust that a candidate sign had been erected on one of our properties in Wenham.  The Hamilton Wenham Open Land Trust has not, and never will, endorse a particular candidate for any elected office.  The board as a whole had no knowledge that a candidate sign had been placed on our property. Further, since we have a policy against endorsing political candidates, we would have declined permission for such a display had we been asked.

We look forward to continuing our tradition of working to conserve and steward conservation land for the public benefit in Hamilton, Wenham, and Ipswich.

Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
Hamilton Wenham Open Land Trust

Thank you for setting the record straight. However, you left out an important detail, how did the signs get placed on the land in the first place? Readers can view an earlier posting by Dave Reid to find those answers : http://hamilton-wenham.patch.com/groups/opinion/p/campaign-etiquette
