Five Weekend Event Picks Right Here in the Two Towns

Here is Hamilton-Wenham Patch’s “Get Out” weekend planner for what is shaping up to be one of the most action-packed weekends of local activities that we have seen in a long time. Below is a quick rundown on some weekend activity suggestions – all right here in Hamilton and Wenham.

Where/When: ; Friday, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: This has become a popular fall activity at Wenham Museum that requires pre-registration. Visitors are encouraged to show up in Halloween costumers for a Halloween-themed adventure in the museum that includes “mystery and surprise.”

Pricing: Members: $8 (Four for $26): Non-members: $12 (Four for $40)

Where/When: Barrington Center for the Arts, ; Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: It is the world premiere of “Lizzy, Darcy and Jane” on stage, right here in Wenham. The production is the story of Jane Austen as she was writing the book “Pride and Prejudice.”

Pricing: $10 General Admission, $8 for students, seniors and Gordon faculty and staff.

Where/When: auditorium; Saturday, 9 a.m.

Why Go: While it may not be the family fun of Pumpkin Fest or have the entertainment value of a Sunday afternoon concert, this is one of two opportunities each year that Hamilton residents have to make direct decisions about the way their government operates. The item that has received the most discussion has been Article 4-2, which , beginning in 2013. Do not forget about the to benefit the Aplastic Anemia Myelodysplasia International Foundation.

Where/When: , , and ; Saturday, 12:30-7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Pumpkin Fest is the . There’s everything that says fall, from pumpkins to carve into Jack O’Lanterns to hayrides and an apple press. Then there’s a spaghetti dinner, the lit pumpkins surround the pond at Patton Park and the bon fire is lit. Amid all the action do not forget about “Got Talent” contest run by the EdFund next door at Winthrop Elementary School.

Where/When: ; Sunday, 3 p.m.

Why Go: Hear all the other great tunes beyond “Puff the Magic Dragon” that come from the trio “Peter, Paul and Mary.” Better yet, hear it from many talented local singers with all the proceeds benefiting .
