Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 16

Today is Monday, May 16. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Weather: Monday starts off a week of what is supposed to be dreary. Monday will be clouds with occasional showers and temperatures into the 50s.

2. Blood drive: The American Red Cross is on Monday afternoon at on Grapevine Road in Wenham. It runs from 2-7 p.m.

3. Quiz Show: The college bowl team cruised to a win in the Eastern Massachusetts semi-finals of High School Quiz Show on WGBH-TV, channel 2 on Sunday night. That moves the on to the Eastern Massachusetts finals, which airs next Sunday, May 22 on channel 2. Just like this week, the team and its supporters will have a “watch party” at the .

4. Grow a Row: Learn how to plant the seeds for crops needed at this summer at a session at the on Monday night at 7 p.m. There will also be a demonstration of how to build an elevated growing bed.

5. Town Meeting: If hadn’t finished up shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday, it could have resumed Monday night. But there’s no need for it. The biggest vote was on the school budget, where voters approved a school budget that is $500,000 less than the School Committee’s budget.
