Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 8

Today is Wednesday, Feb. 8. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Weather: What’s already been a great week of weather will continue on Wednesday with partly sunny skies and temperatures into the mid-30s.

2. Cabaret: A major fundraiser for the concert choir travel fund happens on Wednesday night with the , which starts at 6:30 p.m. at the high school. Guests are treated to a four-course dinner plus tableside entertainment from the students. Reservations are required – contact Abby Frost at frosta@hwschools.net.

3. Pastors: The kicks off at on Wednesday with Dr. John Yates and his wife Susan. Yates, rector of The Falls Church in Falls Church, Va., is an author and speaker. His program, titled “The Surprising Workings of God,” is all all-day program designed for pastors and church leaders.

4. Town Administrator: The resumes are already coming in from candidates interested in becoming . The deadline to apply is Feb. 17. All of the resumes are being given to the Board of Selectmen, who will make a pick before outgoing Town Administrator Jeff Chelgren leaves . His final day will be April 13.

5. Home School: The latest program for home school students gets started on Wednesday afternoon. The programs runs weekly on Wednesday afternoons through May and is a program designed to bring together home school students for both a unique lesson and some socializing.
