Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 23

Today is Tuesday, Aug. 23. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Weather: We’ll have it all on Tuesday - weatherwise. The forecast calls for sun with temperatures in the 70s. And best of all, the air will be dry with low dew points.

2. Meet School Administrators: Three new school administrators will all be available to at the school’s central office. John Hughes, interim principal; John Driscoll, interim principal and Kathy Harris, Director of Student Services will be available to meet with students, staff and community members from 6-7 p.m. at the .

3. Pick Your Own: reports that the pick-your-own blueberry season is wrapping up but that pick-your-own cherry tomato season is still going strong.

4. Triathlon: Congratulations to Amy Foster of Hamilton, the top finisher in last Friday’s Ipswich YMCA Triathlon at Crane Beach. Foster, who finished 19th overall, was 10 minutes behind the winner. Close behind her was Amy Wieman of Wenham. Both women did a great job representing the two towns at the event with great performances.

5. Joint Selectmen and School Committee: The Boards of Selectmen from both towns plus the School Committee will be meeting at on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the large meeting room to discuss a bevy of topics and issues, including a discussion about a and any items that may be on the Fall Town Meeting warrant in both towns.
