Today is Monday, April 4. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Weather: The notable thing about Monday’s weather forecast is that it will get warmer into the evening. Otherwise it will be yucky – some snow early and then rain.

2. Arch Traveler: The Kentucky Derby contender, Arch Traveler, that – the Florida Derby – had a connection to in Hamilton. But it wasn’t to be as he finished sixth in a field of eight and out of the money. That all but dashed his chances of getting into the start gate at the Kentucky Derby.

3. School budget: The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee didn’t vote on its final budget last Thursday as originally expected and will meet both Monday and Wednesday this week, hoping to hash out a final 2012 budget.

4. Spring Sports: The spring sports season was originally scheduled to get going on Friday with a , but it was cancelled because of the snow. Things are scheduled to get going on Monday with the girls lacrosse team on the road.

5. Hamilton Selectmen: The Hamilton Board of Selectmen meets on Monday night at , with , including a presentation about the creation of the Hamilton Development Corp., a new organization focused on development in the downtown that will go to vote in May.
