Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: July 9

Today is Monday, July 9. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Nicer: There’s been some stretches of quite hot and humid weather in recent days. While things will still be a somewhat hot, with temperatures into the 80s on Monday with sunny skies, the forecast calls for it to be less humid.

2. Story Times: The latest session of weekly story times starts on Monday at . The storytimes runs through the week of Aug. 13 and include programs such as Baby Bookworms and Rhythm and Rhyme.

3. Readers’ Choice: Since mid-June, we have been , ranging from gas stations to hair salons here on Hamilton-Wenham Patch for our Best of Patch Readers Choice contest. Monday is the last chance to submit a nomination before voting begins later this month.

4. Silverwing Mascot: Starting on Monday, keep an eye out for Silverwing, Hamilton-Wenham Library’s bat mascot. Silverwing is the mascot for the summer reading program, “Dream Big, Read” and can be spotted at businesses and town offices. Children who spot it can enter a raffle for a chance to win a prize.

5. Hamilton Selectmen: The Hamilton Board of Selectmen are meeting on Monday night at 7 p.m. at , where the board will continue its work on board and committee reappointments and accept a $10,000 gift towards the Patton Park playground project.
