Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: July 2

Today is Monday, July 2. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Great: Monday is looking to be great, weatherwise, to start off a week of what looks to be some delightful summertime weather. The skies will be sunny with temperatures into the mid-80s.

2. Superintendent: The first official day on the job , the new superintendent for the , is Monday.  Member of the School Committee plan to gather at the Center School office to greet him at 8 a.m.

3. T rates: Another quick reminder about the new rates on the MBTA are now in effect, on what is the first workday under the new rate structure, which includes monthly passes from going from $210 to $252 and single-ride tickets going from $5.75 to $8.

4. Photo contest: Entries will be accepted starting on Monday for Hamilton-Wenham Library’s photography contest for students in grade 1-6. The contest involves participants telling a story through a photo portfolio mounted on a single poster board. The contest runs through July 31 and the winner will be announced at the ice cream party in August.

5. Hamilton Selectmen: The Hamilton Board of Selectmen meet on Monday at 7 p.m. at , when on the agenda will be the board’s reappointment of board and committee members.
