Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: April 20

An essential get-me-going daily morning column from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

Today is Friday, April 20. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Earth Day: In honor of Earth Day, which is officially on Sunday, the  is a getting a “mini landscaping makeover.” The volunteers will be there from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. planting flowers, mulching and cleaning up the grounds. Volunteers and donations from several local businesses will complete the work, including Linda Bangs of LB Designs, , Corliss Wholesale Nursery and Shirts Illustrated.

2. Wenham Town Meeting Warrant: Boy Scouts of Troop 28 and the Cub Scouts of Pack 28 in Wenham this weekend. is May 5 at 1 p.m. at .

3. Train Busing: This weekend is the final weekend that . Work on the Saugus River drawbridge has been going on for the past few weekends, causing busing (and delays) between Lynn and North Station.

4. Hamilton DPW Yard: The yard is – the third Saturday of the month - for drop off of electronics and other large equipment, and that day in April is this Saturday. The hours are 8 a.m. to noon.

5. Student Art: Artwork from the winners of the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards , including 13 winners from . The last day that the artwork is on display is Friday.
