We bring you a quick rundown on some weekend activity options in Hamilton and Wenham, plus the chance to visit for free and an Arts Festival around the downtown of neighboring Manchester-by-the-Sea.

Why Go: It’s a great opportunity to see what is truly a world class museum just two towns away. The museum is free all day on Friday, thanks to the Highland Street Foundation. And if you can’t make it on Friday, don’t forget about the discount pass available at that gives you $5 admission any other day.

Why Go: Where does milk come from? How do you milk a cow? The “Meet the Cows” series allow participants to areas of Appleton Farms’ farmstead building that are not typically open to the public and gives you a firsthand look at an agricultural operation close to home.

Where/When: Downtown Manchester-by-the-Sea; Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Why Go: For the fourth straight year, downtown Manchester becomes filled with dozens of artists showing everything from paintings and photographs to pottery and jewelry.

Where/When: Various locations in Hamilton and Wenham; Dawn to dusk

Why Go: This weekend is the across both Hamilton and Wenham. You can get a map of all the art location sat in Wenham or in Hamilton . Organizers are even encouraging people to explore the art on bicycle.

Where/When: ; Sunday, 5-7 p.m.

Why Go: The weekly summertime series continues on Sunday evening with the Demijon Music Clan, which mixes Irish folk music with Rock and Roll. If it rains (it shouldn’t, the forecast looks great) the concert will be held at .

The best part about the concert is that the temperatures be back into a comfortable range. As always, remember to pack a blanket or chair plus a picnic dinner.
