A Positive Shout-Out to the Voters of Hamilton and Shawn Farrell

Following up from the goodwill and community building created by the Chair of our Board of Selectmen at our Town Meeting this Saturday, I would also like to take a moment to recognize the voters of Hamilton and also Shawn Farrell, who is running for Selectman.

It was so nice for Hamilton voters to learn that the Town is fiscally sound, is addressing infrastructure needs and moving forward in a positive direction. It was so encouraging for the Town to work together and provide overwhelming support to the Board of Selectmen and the Patton Advisory Committee (and Joanne Patton) in our recommendation to sell 4 of the 27 acres of the Patton Estate for 12 units of 55-plus, clustered development. Thank you!

The Patton vote addressed so many items on our To Do List: a housing option for our empty nesters, an ability to make the Patton Estate sustainable together with an ability to obtain large State grants, a positive tax revenue source and a potential to provide a large funding contribution towards our future turf field.

We still have a lot of hard work to do.  Our tax rate is still high, we need to find a solution for our emergency center, and we need to find more new revenue solutions. And, we need to stop just talking about our need for affordable senior housing, and actually make it happen. The list goes on and on. We need someone who sees all the good in Hamilton and finds solutions, not problems.  Please join me in supporting Shawn Farrell for Hamilton’s next Selectman on April 10th.
