New Summer Programs at the Wenham Museum - Registration is open

The Wenham Museum Summer Programs showcase how we have lived, worked and played from the 17th century to today.

Minecraft® Kid Con- Ages 7-12
Tuesday & Wednesday, July 8 & 9, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
Register by June 1

Spend two days with like-minded Minecraft fans exploring fun new ways to enjoy your favorite game. Explore the open world of the Minecraft computer game and get creative as together we bring Minecraft themes and strategies to life with crafts, cooking and outdoor games.

Focus and Frame: A Three Day Photo Experience, Ages 9+
Tuesday – Thursday, July 15 – 17, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm 

Explore photography from the days of glass plate formality to the Instagram mania of today. What stories do we tell with pictures? How do we achieve the look we want? Learn to make the most of this wonderful medium that allows anyone, anywhere to create and share art. Tell your stories, respect your subject and frame your vision. Bring whatever digital camera, phone or tablet you have that lets you take a photo.

Colonial Kids, Ages 6-10
Wednesday, August 6, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

Step back to a time when there was no television or video games; just you and your friends and the great outdoors. Spend a fun-filled day making crafts, cooking and doing chores as we will learn the ins-and-outs of being a colonial child in rural New England.

Dolls Day Out, Ages 6-11 
Wednesday, August 13, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

Bring your favorite 18-inch doll for a day of fun at the museum. Together we will take a behind-the-scenes tour of the doll collection, learn about caring for your doll and make fabulous accessories. The day will end with a wonderful doll tea party created by you for everyone to enjoy.

Civil War Experience, Ages 8-12
Thursday and Friday, August 14 & 15, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

Children will experience life during the American Civil War as a soldier from the North or South. Through cooking, drilling, tent making and crafts the children will feel like they are a part of the history surrounding this monumental time in U.S. History.

LEGO Workshop- Ages 5-7
July 21–25, 9 am–Noon   

Participants will learn engineering concepts while building Lego machines and contraptions with motors and gears. Students will build a new project each day including; conveyor belts, cranes, a mystery machine and dump trucks. This hands-on, minds-on program is appropriate for builders of all skill levels.

LEGO Workshop- Ages 8+ 
July 21–25, 1-4 pm    

Projects in this program focus on building complex mechanical structures using Lego gears, motors, and remote controllers. The projects will include building cars with suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel drive. Students will have the opportunity to customize their creations and build their own designs.

Lego® WeDO Robotics - Ages 5-7 
July 28–Aug 1, 9 am–Noon 

Explore Lego WeDo Robotics as students build and program a new project each day to make them move and make noise. Projects include: a car, house, Ferris wheel, crane, and elevator.  This hands-on, minds-on program is appropriate for builders of all skill levels.
