Two Ways To Dispose Christmas Trees in Wenham

Two ways to get rid of your Christmas tree.

The Town of Wenham is offering residents two means of disposing of Christmas Trees during the 2011 holiday season. These options are as follow:

1. Trash Pickup - Residents can place Christmas trees out with their trash, on
their regular trash collection dates, during the weeks of January 2nd and
January 9th. All discarded trees will be collected by, Hiltz Disposal.

2. Tree Drop-off - The Wenham DPW will establish three drop off locations
throughout town where residents can deliver and dispose of Christmas trees.
These location are as follow:

a. West Wenham Playground Parking Lot Topsfield Road (Rte. 97)
Main Street (Route 1A)
b. Pingree Park Parking Lot
91 Grapevine Road
c. Wenham Dept. of Public Works Yard

Christmas trees can be dropped off at these three locations for the two weeks
extending between December 26, 2011 to January 9, 2012. All trees will be
ground up and recycled for horticultural use.

It should be noted that the town encourages all residents to take advantage of the tree drop-off options listed in #2 above. The Hiltz collection alternative, noted in #1 above requires the town to pay for both the collection and disposal costs. Option #2 offers the greatest cost savings to the town and is a more environmentally sensitive alternative.
