Students who are pursuing post-secondary education programs and show an interest in community service and their hometown of Wenham may apply for a WVIS Scholarship.  Students should be entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year of college.
WVIS has awarded scholarships for higher education to qualified Wenham residents since 1950.  Many of the scholarship donations are made in memory of Wenham residents, including the Pierce, Birkemose, Whittier, Ayers, Kimball, Boyd and Aldrich families.
Since the program’s inception, WVIS has awarded over $596,000 in scholarships to Wenham students. Other WVIS philanthropies include the Wenham summer playground program; building, maintenance and restoration of the Monument Street tennis courts; Town Meeting Lunch; maintenance of the Tea House property; and other projects which contribute to the welfare of the community.
Scholarship applications are due on April 4, 2014.  WVIS will notify all recipients by mail/email.
