Mindfulness Presentation by Doug Worthen

Please join Shore parents and Doug Worthen for a morning presentation about the practice of Mindfulness in Shore's new theater in the Lawrence A. Griffin Center for Creativity. All are welcome at this free event.

As a teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at Middlesex
School in Concord, MA, Doug Worthen offers to student and parent
audiences an inspiring perspective on living with balance. He is a part
of the Mindfulness in School Project teacher training team and a board
member for Inward Bound Mindfulness Education. Doug completed the MBSR
teacher training practicum from UMass and the Mindful Education
Institute one-year teacher training.

Some benefits of mindfulness practice are:

  • Increased focus
  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Approach situations with a new perspective
  • Improved patience
  • Less impulsive behavior
  • Emotional and social well-being
Doug
began practicing mindfulness meditation in 1999 as a member of the UVA
national championship lacrosse team and has been a dedicated
practitioner ever since. Living through two bouts of lymphoma, he has
experienced first-hand the healing power of mindfulness.

We hope to see you at this meaningful event.
