Free Bird Walk at Wenham Rail Trail

Mass Audubon's Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary will be leading
a series of free bird walks in Hamilton and Wenham this spring, thanks to a grant
from the Hamilton-Wenham Local Cultural Council.

Join Ipswich River Naturalist Scott Santino for a walk along the Wenham-Danvers section of the Border to Boston Rail Trail, part of which runs through Mass Audubon's Great Wenham Swamp property. We'll explore the swamp walk in Danvers, an extended boardwalk providing access to birds setting up territory in beaver-enhanced wetlands. This can be peak migration time for songbirds, and we'll have fun sorting out warblers, vireos, flycatchers, and blackbirds.

Bring
binoculars if you have them, and we'll bring a few extra pairs if you don't.

Dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear.
