FEMA Meeting on Redrawn Essex County Flood Maps

Following many complaints about flood insurance rate

and premium hikes, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will host a
community meeting in Lynn on September 30th to discuss recently

redrawn flood maps in Essex County. Hundreds of residents in Essex County could
potentially be impacted by these changes in the flood map, and this meeting
offers the opportunity for residents to voice their concerns to FEMA officials.

FEMA will host an open meeting from 3:00 to 8:00 on Monday, September 30th,
with a presentation at 6:00. Residents will be able to speak with FEMA and
state representatives before and after the presentation. Members of Congressman
Tierney’s staff who have been discussing this issue with constituents will also
be in attendance.
