New! Theater Workshop for Kids

New to the stage or looking to improve your acting skills? The Community House Theater is hosting a new workshop series for young aspiring actors.
Grades 2-5
Saturdays 11am-12:30pm
Fee: $135 per session
Instructor: Amy Sheridan

Each week students will participate in specialty theater games to warm up and develop new theater skills and then work together to learn and rehearse a play that we will showcase at the end of the session for our friends and family to enjoy. Session format:
Week 1: Discussing the play and cast of characters, audition skills lesson and practice
Week 2: Assigning roles, reading scripts
Weeks 3 and 4: Acting Skills 1 and 2, blocking scenes
Week 5: Dress Rehearsal
Week 6: Final Dress Rehearsal and Performance for friends and family


Session 1 – January 26 – March 9 (no class 2/16) – Not Your Average Fairy Tales – A special twist on the familiar tales of Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs and more!


Session 2 – March 16 – April 27 (no class 4/13) – Androcles and the Lion! An adaptation of the classic tale by Aesop, about a
boy who saves the King of the Forest, but with lots of mayhem, mischief and laughs galore!
