Conference on Domestic Violence and Abuse

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and the Psi Chi (International Honor Society in Psychology) Chapter will host a counseling conference, “No Place for Abuse: Bridging the Gap in Situations of Domestic Violence, Abuse and Sexual Assault,” on Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. 

Keynote speakers will be sociologist Dr. Nancy Nason-Clark and former U.S. Senator Scott Brown. Nason-Clark is Chair of the Department of Sociology at the University of New Brunswick, Canada, and Founder of the Rave Project, a research endeavor that examines the relationship between abuse, faith, gender and culture. Brown is author of Against All Odds, and will share from his personal experience with domestic violence and sexual assault.

The conference also includes eight plenary and workshop presenters: Dr. Dennis Hollinger, President and Professor of Christian Ethics at Gordon-Conwell; Dr. Kenneth Swetland, Senior Professor of Ministry; Tana Miller, Women's Director of the Southern New England Ministry Network; Dr. Marjorie Kroeger, Clinical Director and Founder of The Stony Brook Center; and others.
